Fighting the Good Fight
I am fighting the good fight of the faith
Where every tear is a question mark.
A prostrating illness in which
Providence seems to mock.
A seemingly needless severe frustration.
Things are going from bad to worse
An apparent deterioration.
All in the fight to maintain my faith.
I was called to this "fight"
Which implies the existence of foes.
Of the faith in the outside world.
In the organised church.
In my own fallen nature.
Yet I must fight.
Against error and evil in society.
Against apostasy in the professing church.
Against sin in my own heart and life.
Oh how many are my foes and how strong?
Anti Christians Schools!
The connivance of our courts of law!
Dishonoring of marriage vows!
You Name it!
I must Fight it!
In the church-
In my own nature-
Ambushments of doubts.
Lurking Judases ever ready to betray the citadel of man's soul.
To invading temptations etc.
Oh how many and how mighty!
How subtle and how scheming!
How insurgent are the
Foes of Faith!
