Emotional Landscapes
I am a shrub in fall. I am aging with a beautiful array of colours. I am slowly shedding my leaves and anticipating the brutalities of mean winter. I weep for the birds who took shelter in my strong branches during the summer. They now have to busy themselves to find a new home for winter. My leaves on the ground is now a habitat for the lady bugs. They will make a lovely pile for the children to play. They will jump in them and laugh with glee as they listen to the crunching of the leaves under their feet.
